چکیده

Antibody immunodeficiencies are common in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and associated recurrent sino-pulmonary infections. The role of functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) has not been established the management these infections clinical guidelines suggest caution surgery. This study evaluates number antibiotic courses for radiographic disease severity after FESS CRS antibody immunodeficiencies. Patients undergoing at Northwestern Medicine between 2007-2017 were identified using an automated review electronic medical records. A manual chart 35 randomly selected was performed. prescribed annually determined, 1 year before up to 5 years FESS. Lund-Mackay scores calculated who had CT scans available 51.4% male, 82.9% white, average age 52.9±8 years. There a reduction mean±SD antibiotics per (2.8±2.2 pre vs. 1.5±1.2 post, P=0.001) (N=21, 10.2±5.3 7.5±3.2, P=0.009). is prescriptions improvement suggests that can be effective strategy reducing burden patients.
